AAA Smart Home Ecommerce

The AAA Smart Home ecommerce project is the transformation of a static marketing landing page to a fully interactive ecommerce shopping experience, complete with customized shopping flows, cart, and checkout flows which accommodate financing and installation options.

I prototyped and tested multiple shopping flows targeting various market segments, including the customization of pre-configured bundles, build-your-own-bundle, and a simple yet highly effective product recommendation questionnaire. In addition to shopping flows, I developed concepts for a complete website design overhaul to focus the customer experience on product shopping and checkout conversion.

This work is not yet live on the AAA Smart Home website, but is available to share upon request.

 

AAA Car Subscription Sign-Up with Car Pickup and Delivery

Drivers who need the use of a car for a period of 3 to 12 months, with more economical terms than a car rental and fewer restrictions than a typical lease, may subscribe to one of a fleet of Toyotas and VW e-Golfs. Subscriptions include insurance, vehicle maintenance and roadside assistance.

I reworked the sign-up flow to ease friction in the customer experience and reduce manual efforts needed from the operations team. Additionally, I developed a progressive disclosure interface for customers to select delivery or pick-up of their car, for a touch-free experience during a global pandemic.

The Shop Dashboard project was a significant undertaking to design and deploy a completely new B2B product for over 2000 automotive repair shop owners in the RepairPal Certified network.

The new, responsive dashboard allows shop owners to easily track their ROI and respond to all RepairPal customer activity in one convenient location.

The Vehicle Reliability tool is the first of its kind in the automotive industry to rate vehicle reliability exclusively using hard data. Rather than rely on subjective consumer opinions, we leveraged RepairPal’s large proprietary database of tens of thousands of repair invoices from independent shops across the nation.

By arming consumers with real numbers and hard facts, the Reliability Rating increases knowledge and confidence so that they can make the most informed decisions when researching and buying cars, and budgeting for repair and maintenance costs.

As a continuation of the Vehicle Reliability project, a car comparison tool was needed that works equally as well on mobile devices as it does on desktop.

This tool allows consumers to easily compare the Vehicle Reliability scores and score breakdowns of two cars, email, text and print comparison results.

This new B2B product provides a streamlined yet flexible experience for automotive repair shops to apply to and join the RepairPal Certified network of shops.

The web app replaces an inefficient and uncoordinated process spread across departments and systems with a single consolidated product that greatly speeds up application processing time and reduces internal labor hours.

CarMax customers often travel long distances to purchase a car at a CarMax store. At a later date, they may need repair work done close to home, not near the store where they made their vehicle purchase.

The new CarMax service associate page consolidates the disjointed systems formerly in use into a single, standalone product for referring customers to high quality RepairPal Certified repair shops.

MaxCare customers calling CarMax Service receive a one-stop, full-service “concierge” experience for finding a repair shop and booking an appointment.

Smule's Magic Piano app songbook contains over 1100 songs and 20 different songbook sections.  

The new design for iOS reduces friction and helps users more easily find songs they want to play through improvements in navigation layout, search and song preview UI, and the addition of sorting options.

A complete redesign of Smule.com's second most-visited page, second only to the home page.

In the new responsive design, emphasis was on making the page more delightful to interact with as well as greatly improving explanation of content. The result was a 300%+ increase in song playback.

A complete redesign of the first time user experience for Smule's extremely popular Magic Piano app.

The new tutorial for both iOS and Android dramatically improved teaching of core mechanics while boosting confidence in new users, resulting in a significant increase in subscriber attach rates.

For Piano iOS, I created a new color palette for chord notes, which helped users more easily understand the multitouch mechanics.
